It's Derby Time...
Woodford Reserve Tasting in store today from 1pm - 4pm.
It's Kentucky Derby time. And that means Mint Julep time. Everyone seems to have a favorite way to prepare this classic American cocktail. Here's one of our favorites, courtesy of Imbibe Magazine.
Classic Mint Julep
6–7 fresh mint leaves
1 Tbsp. simple syrup
2 oz. bourbon
Crushed ice
Tools: barspoon
Glass: silver julep cup (or highball)
Garnish: mint sprig
Combine mint leaves, syrup and bourbon in a glass. Using a bar spoon, crush the mint to release its essence into the liquid. Fill the glass with ice. Gently press the spoon into the ice, shaking it to incorporate the bourbon-syrup mixture. Garnish.
Cheers!

Rosé season...
Time to stock up for those afternoon picnics and barbecues. I love a dry Provencal rosé with zesty acidity and fruit that reminds me of strawberry rhubarb pie. Maybe with a grilled octopus salad or perhaps some Prosciutto e Melone. You?
Browse our selection of rosé on the web or stop into the store and say Hello.

Drinking Local
Westford Hill Kirsch Eau-de-vie (Ashford, CT), Olde Burnside Ten Penny Ale Reserve (East Hartford, CT), Sharpe Hill Dry Riesling (Pomfret, CT).
These days, everybody's talking about eating local. And with good reason. Eating local is environmentally responsible, and means more for the local economy. But what about drinking locally? You'd be surprised how many high quality beers, wines, and spirits are made right here in Connecticut. Amity Wine & Spirits is proud to offer a wide selection of these products with plans to bring in more in the future.
